Grundy Center’s Riah Schrage Crowned as 2025 Iowa State Fair Queen

Out of 102 statewide contestants, Grundy County Fair Queen and Grundy Center Senior Riah Schrage was crowned as the 2025 Iowa State Fair Queen on the Anne and Bill Riley Stage on Saturday. She is the daughter of Landon and Cassie Schrage. 

She is the first broadcast area winner since 1995, when Cindy Ahrens from Hampton represented Franklin County. 

According to Iowa State Fair Officials, Schrage will receive a $3,000 scholarship from the fair in addition to her crown, sash and trophy. She will also receive a $1,000 scholarship from Dawghouse Concessions, a floral bouquet from Boesen the Florist, a $600 gift card, a crown necklace from the Iowa State Fair and an Iowa State Fair Brick from the Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation.

Judging was based on personality, attitude, awareness, leadership, citizenship, contributions to the community, overall appearance, charm and poise.

Schrage will have multiple public appearances as she serves for the remainder of the fair and throughout her reign over the next year.
