The Iowa Valley Community College District Board of Directors met this week, approving a range of projects to improve technology, workforce training, and campus facilities.
The Board signed a $42,500, three-year agreement for a new cloud-based video platform, offering better accessibility and automated captioning for students. Mental health support will continue at Ellsworth Community College through Achieve Mental Health, with in-person and telehealth services available.
Facility updates include roof repairs for dorms at Marshalltown Community College and Ellsworth’s Math and Science building, design work for a new MCC Trades Building, and plans for additional student housing in Marshalltown. In workforce development, the Board approved a $30,590 training agreement with Lennox Industries to prepare employees for leadership roles.
IVCCD serves Marshalltown Community College, Ellsworth Community College, Iowa Valley Grinnell, and Iowa Valley Business and Community Solutions.
