The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Marshalltown man after a vehicle pursuit.
Alexander Jordan Kew, 32, formerly of Mason City, was arrested on suspicion of 2nd offense Eluding, Theft 1st Degree, and Driving While Barred at about 7:25 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 21).
The arrest occurred after a Sheriff’s Deputy located a 2020 Chevrolet Trax that had been reported stolen from Marshalltown earlier in the day. An attempted traffic stop of the vehicle led to a vehicle pursuit. During the pursuit, a passenger jumped from the vehicle and fled on foot. The driver continued to flee but eventually stopped near the intersection of 5th Street NW and North Adams. The driver was identified as Kew and transported to the Cerro Gordo County Jail where he is currently being held for bond. The passenger has not been located.
