The United Way of North Central Iowa is looking for volunteers for its annual Day of Caring coming up on Thursday, September 18. The event brings together businesses, schools, civic groups, and families to take on community service projects across the region. Volunteers will help with everything from landscaping and painting to organizing, meal preparation, and cleanup.
While many of the projects are centered in Mason City, United Way leaders say the effort benefits the entire north central Iowa region. Projects this year include outdoor cleanup with Elderbridge Agency on Aging, painting at the YMCA, and meal preparation at the Community Kitchen. Organizers say opportunities are available for groups of all sizes and skill levels.
Teams are encouraged to sign up soon, as projects fill quickly. Registration can be completed at unitedwaynci.org.
