
The Iowa Falls-Alden/AGWSR, North Butler and West Fork cross country teams ran at the Newman Catholic Invite at NIACC on Tuesday. It was the first meet of the season for North Butler and West Fork.
In the girls race, Iowa Falls-Alden/AGWSR was the team champion with a 61. West Fork placed seventh. North Butler didn’t register a team score. Individually, IFA/AGWSR’s Demi Beaubien placed fifth in 20:27 and Piper Smith finished in 10th in 22:08. It was Beaubien’s second straight top 5 finish. West Fork’s Makenna Dick placed eighth in 21:36. North Butler’s Addison Voelker finished 11th in 22:13.
In the boys race, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura was the team champion with a 48. North Butler was the runner-up. Iowa Falls-Alden placed third. West Fork finished in sixth place. Individually, North Butler’s Ezra Almelien was the champion in 17:02. He was joined in the top eight by teammates Trager Pecha in sixth in 18:23 and Brady Henning in eighth in 18:39. IFA’s Andrew Herrin finished fifth in 18:16. It was Herrin’s second straight top 5 finish. Kaden Graf led West Fork with a 15th place finish in 19:19.
North Butler’s next meet will be at Charles City on Thursday. West Fork will be at the Belmond-Klemme Invite on Tuesday, September 9. Iowa Falls-Alden will be at Waverly-Shell Rock on Tuesday, September 9.
