Clarksville Hosts North Tama in Home Opener

clarksville-4

After two road games to start the season, the Clarksville football team will play their first home game of the season when they host the North Tama Redhawks Friday. The Indians (1-1) will look to keep their offense rolling after last week’s 72-12 win over GMG.

Head Coach Darren Bohlen credits his team’s blocking in Week 2 and sees it as a key factor against North Tama.

“Our intensity that we had on the offensive line, I thought Tommy Barnett, Dawson Barnett, Weston Jensen, they all did a fantastic job. Harley did a great job and so did Briggs Hoodjer getting his first start at tight end. We just did an outstanding job blocking and getting off the football and our double teams were moving people. So if we can do that, I think we’re going to be okay.”

Another key factor is North Tama’s passing attack, led by quarterback Kayvin Morris who has thrown for 307 yards and four touchdowns this season. Bohlen says his team’s defense will need to continue attacking up front to disrupt the Redhawks’ timing.

“I’d like to see our defensive line and linebackers continue to put pressure on their front and make the quarterback throw the ball a little early.”

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Clarksville High School on Friday.
