The Aplington-Parkersburg School Board is preparing for a special election on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, where voters will decide on a $16.3 million bond proposal.
The proposal would fund secure entrances, HVAC and system upgrades, and essential building improvements at both Aplington and Parkersburg school facilities. District officials say the goal is to create safer and more efficient learning environments for all students.
To help residents learn more, the district has scheduled two open house and tour events. The first will be held Thursday, October 16, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Parkersburg Elementary Library. The second will take place Tuesday, October 21, at the Aplington Elementary/Middle School Library, also from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Each event will begin with a short presentation, followed by guided tours and time for questions. Information is also available online at the district’s dedicated referendum website at bit.ly/ap-ref25, or by contacting the district office at 319-346-1571.
Residents can vote on or before November 4. A direct link to the district’s referendum website can be found under this story at radioonthego.com.
