Two Grundy Center cross country runners medaled, highlighting local action at Tuesday’s Dike-New Hartford Invitational.
Emerson Vokes won the boys race in a PR of 15:07, pacing a ninth place finish for the team. Aplington-Parkersburg was sixth, led by a 28th place finish by Trevan Thomas. Dike-New Hartford was seventh, led by Sully O’Neill in 19th place. Iowa Falls-Alden’s Andrew Herrin placed 15th, leading the team to a 10th place finish.
In the girls race, Grundy Center’s Grace Storjohann placed third in a PR of 19:10, leading the team to a fifth place finish. Dike-New Hartford was third, led by Olivia Petullo in 18th place. Aplington-Parkersburg was 10th, led by Charlee Endelman in 26th place. Iowa Falls-Alden was 11th, led by Piper Smith in 13th place.
