Hampton-Dumont-CAL will visit Iowa Falls-Alden in a battle of North Central Conference volleyball teams Thursday, which’ll air on 104.9 KLMJ. With both teams at the bottom of the standings, the winner will emerge from a last place tie.

The Bulldogs (3-14, 1-4 NCC) will look to snap a nine-match losing streak where they haven’t won a set. They’ll look to clean up their serve receive after giving up 15 aces in a 3-0 loss at #5 (3A) Humboldt Tuesday. They’ll go for the team’s first conference win since a five-set triumph over St. Edmond in the conference opener.

Iowa Falls-Alden (11-13, 1-4 NCC) will look to bounce back from Tuesday’s 3-2 loss at Charles City, where 12 service errors proved costly. Co-head coach Nikki Allen.

“Hopefully we’re gonna get a win that night,” Allen says. “We faced them earlier in Belmond, and one thing I would say lately we’ve been struggling with more is our serving. That had been a huge strength for us. When we played them the first time that really made an impact, so I’m hoping we can get that back on track.”

It’ll be the second meeting between the teams this season; the Cadets won 2-0 at a tournament at Belmond-Klemme on Saturday, September 13. The first serve will be at 7:00 p.m. with pregame coverage at 6:45.
