Authorities say the investigation continues into the Crossroads convenience store in Hampton following a major search by law enforcement agencies.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies, Hampton Police, Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division investigators, and Homeland Security Investigations executed a search warrant at the Crossroads location at the intersection of Highways 3 and 65 after several months of investigation. Officers seized alcohol, point-of-sale technology, video equipment, and sales receipts. The inquiry focuses on possible alcohol and sales tax violations.

RadioOnTheGo News received multiple tips about the law enforcement activity Monday, with witnesses reporting as many as eight vehicles and trailers being loaded with evidence from the liquor and CBD store.

The store’s owner, Amarjot Singh, has been in custody since last week following his arrest in Hampton. He’s currently being held at the Hardin County Jail in Eldora.

Earlier this year, the Hampton City Council denied Crossroads’ alcohol license after Police Chief Mark Morrison cited multiple recent violations. Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
