Revitalize Dumont’s restoration effort at the town’s former school building continues to gain momentum as the organization heads into its next public meeting to be held tomorrow (Wed). Members of the nonprofit will update residents on the latest financial progress, project milestones, and plans for the next phase of work on the former Dumont school building.
That momentum has been throughout the year. Volunteers have helped clear out years of debris, install new bleacher seating, and work toward making parts of the building usable again. Fundraising has surged as well, highlighted by a $125,000 donation from Dumont Telephone Company and $10,000 from First Security Bank & Trust. Community fundraisers — including a poker run and fun-run event — added further support, while alumni and local families continue to step forward with contributions.
Attendees are encouraged to bring ideas, energy, and a friend as the project moves into its next chapter. Revitalize Dumont’s public meeting will take place tomorrow (Wed), 7 p.m. at the American Legion Hall on Main Street in Dumont.
