Six area high school dance teams showcased their skills and brought home hardware at the 2026 Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Association (ISDTA) Championships at the Casey’s Center and EMC Expo Center on Thursday and Friday. Local schools in competition included West Fork, Iowa Falls-Alden, Aplington-Parkersburg, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, AGWSR and Grundy Center.
West Fork in the team competition won four state titles. The Warhawks finished in first place in Class III Pom, Class II Hip Hop, Class II Jazz and Class I Mix. Individually in Class II Solo, Kylin Johnson earned a state title, Adra Johnson finished in second place, Emerli Johnson was third and Nahla Wilson placed sixth.
Iowa Falls-Alden in the team competition was the state runner-up in Class VII Pom. Individually in Class V Solo, Hayden Off placed third and Kenna Jack Foley finished 10th.
Hampton-Dumont-CAL in the team competition finished runner-up in Class II Lights.
Grundy Center in the team competition finished runner-up in Class I Prop.
AGWSR in the team competition placed fifth in Class I Mix.
Aplington-Parkersburg’s Samantha Carlson placed seventh in Class I Solo.
