
Hampton police are investigating a shooting reported early New Year’s Day.
According to a news release sent to RadioOnTheGo News by Hampton Police Chief Mark Morrison, officers were called at about 3:18 a.m. Jan. 1 to a report of multiple shots fired in the 300 block of 12th Avenue NE. Witnesses reported hearing gunfire, and officers recovered gunfire evidence at the scene.
Investigators determined no one was struck by gunfire, though two victims were identified.
Victor Ivan Ferman-Nava, 22, of Coulter, was arrested and is being held at the Franklin County Law Enforcement Center awaiting a court appearance. He is charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, and six counts of reckless use of a firearm.
Hampton police were assisted by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the Franklin County Attorney’s Office. The investigation remains ongoing.
