The Hampton Public Library, in partnership with ISU Extension in Franklin County, will host the second annual Franklin County Soup Cook Off Tuesday.
There will be individuals and businesses bringing soups for sampling, and for a free-will donation, attendees can sample over a dozen different types of soup.
Hampton Public Library Director Suzy Knipfel says the event is designed to be welcoming, fun and accessible for all ages.
“You will be allowed to sample all of the soups. We have 16 soups coming and you will vote for your favorite soup and the winner will get a trophy and they’ll be the reigning soup makers from Franklin County. And we are actually partnering with Iowa State University Extension. So they will do a big part of it and we will host it here at our library. So we’d like everybody to stop for lunch at the library next Tuesday.”
The second annual Franklin County Soup Cook Off will get underway at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Hampton Public Library. Those interested in participating, or looking for additional details about the event, are encouraged to contact the Hampton Public Library at 641-456-4451.
