
Iowa drivers are seeing a slight increase at the pump this week.
According to AAA, the average price for regular unleaded gasoline in Iowa rose 4 cents from last week and now stands at $2.54 per gallon. Despite the increase, that’s still 42 cents lower than a year ago. The national average sits at $2.94, up 5 cents from last week.
As of Wednesday afternoon, a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was priced at $2.67 in Hampton, $2.67 in Parkersburg and $2.71 in Clarksville, according to GasBuddy.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa climbed 8 cents this week to an average of $3.45 per gallon. That’s slightly below last year’s average of $3.48 and 22 cents lower than the current national average of $3.67.
On the oil market, West Texas Intermediate crude rose $1.95 to $65.29 per barrel. Brent crude increased $2.64 to $70.20 per barrel.
