On Friday, March 6th, a Grundy County Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle just north of Wellsburg for having an expired license plate. The Grundy County Sheriff’s Department says the driver refused to stop and led the deputy on a six-mile pursuit that ended when the vehicle crashed in Hardin County near the intersection of V Avenue and 170th Street, southwest of Cleves.
As a result of the pursuit, 25-year-old Danyelle Marie Elizabeth Corder of Burlington was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested and released on a promise to appear.
Also arrested was 46-year-old Moises Baiza Carrasco of Stockport, who faces multiple charges including possession of a controlled substance third and subsequent offense, driving while license barred, eluding, possession of drug paraphernalia and several traffic citations related to the pursuit. Carrasco remains in custody.
The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office.
