The Alden City Council met Monday, setting a public hearing for the fiscal year 2027 budget adoption for April 27th at 5 p.m.

During public input, updates were shared on several community projects. City officials reported progress tied to recently awarded Schiller grants, including improvements to the Alden Riverview Campground water hookups, park restroom upgrades, and new equipment for the city pool. Work on restroom flooring and painting is expected to begin soon.

Council members also addressed ongoing concerns, including damage to library story walk poles in the park, which will be secured with concrete, and wind damage to a large pool umbrella.

Additional discussion focused on complaints about semi-trucks parking on restricted streets and nuisance properties. Officials said further enforcement and notices to property owners will be pursued.
