Severe thunderstorms that swept across the area Tuesday produced two confirmed tornadoes in Hardin County, according to the National Weather Service.

Both tornadoes were rated EF0. The first touched down about two miles south of Eldora and traveled just over a mile, damaging farm buildings along its path. A second EF0 tornado was reported east of Eldora, near Pine Lake State Park, tracking less than a mile and causing damage primarily to trees.

In addition to the tornado activity, the storms brought hail to parts of the region. Butler County emergency management officials reported golf ball-sized hail near Greene, along with quarter-sized hail north of Allison. No injuries have been reported, but damage assessments are ongoing.
