
The average price of regular unleaded gasoline in Iowa rose 39 cents over the past week.
According to AAA, regular unleaded gasoline averaged $4.23 per gallon across Iowa as of Wednesday. That is $1.30 higher than one year ago.
The national average Wednesday was $4.54, up 31 cents from last week.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa also increased, rising 46 cents to a statewide average of $5.40 per gallon. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.31 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 27 cents below the national average of $5.67.
Crude oil prices fell this week. West Texas Intermediate crude dropped $10.19 to $95.02 per barrel, while Brent crude fell $15.26 to $101.94 per barrel. One year ago, WTI crude sold for $60.42 and Brent crude was $62.37.
As of Wednesday afternoon, GasBuddy listed regular unleaded at $4.29 per gallon in Hampton, Greene and Clarion.
