Clarksville Softball reloading for new season

clarksville-4

Coming off last year’s Class 1A championship, the Clarksville softball team has begun preseason practices. Head Coach Katie Burman says the stage is set for another strong season.

Three members of last year’s starting lineup graduated, and senior Paige Kampman will miss the season due to an ACL tear, leaving some spots to be filled.
Freshman Cate Lodge is the top returning batter after hitting .389 last year, the fourth-best mark on the team.

Senior pitcher Sydney Lovrien will begin her third season as the primary starter, coming off a season ERA of 1.52 where she earned third-team all-state honors and a spot in the 1A all-tournament team.

They’ll begin the season on Monday, May 18 by hosting Turkey Valley.
