Reeve REA Power Generating Plant Award Ceremony and Open House

Join Franklin REC and the Franklin County Historical Society on Wednesday, July 9 as they celebrate the Reeve REA Power Generating Plant’s designation as a National Historic Landmark!
Tour the historic plant—home to the original diesel engine that first powered rural Iowa in 1937—and see live demonstrations by Franklin REC linemen.
Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig will speak during the event at 11:00 AM.
Free shuttle service is available from the Franklin County Fairgrounds (pickup at the Franklin County Historical Society) from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
