Drought conditions begin to worsen in parts of Iowa
After several weeks of improvement, the latest U-S Drought Monitor shows conditions are beginning to worsen in parts of Iowa.
About 25 and a half percent of Iowa has no drought conditions listed this week, compared to last week at almost 37 percent.
There were increases in the coverage areas for the abnormally dry and moderate drought categories.
In the broadcast area northwestern Hancock County is in a moderate drought while eastern Floyd and northern Butler Counties have no drought conditions. The remainder of the local area is abnormally dry.
