Belmond City Council receives an update on the wastewater treatment plant
This week the Belmond City Council approved on all three readings two ordinance amendments, one concerning rates for service, the other for sewer service charges.
In other business the Belmond council was informed that the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and an engineer had visited the city’s wastewater treatment plant.
Between the two visits it was determined that some updates are needed to the older part of the plant, and although some things are not working properly, Belmond is still within the range of compliance.
