Hampton City Council Approves Contract for 2023-24 Street Rehabilitation Program

Thursday, the Hampton City Council held a public hearing on the adoption of plans, specifications, form of contract and estimate of cost for the construction of the 2023-24 street rehabilitation program. No public comments were received. The council then approved a resolution awarding a construction contract for the work to Heartland Asphalt, Inc. of Mason City in the amount of $288,827.36. 

Hampton Public Works Director Doug Tarr tells Radio on the Go News what the 2023-24 street rehabilitation program will include. 

Tarr says the project should be completed by October of this year. 

During the meeting Thursday, the Hampton City Council also approved a contract extension with Peoples Service of Nebraska for wastewater operation oversight through August 31st, 2023 in the amount of $945 per month.
