One area school named as a Blue Ribbon School
Five Iowa schools are being recognized by the U-S Department of Education as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2023. The award honors high performing schools for overall academic excellence.
One of the schools to be recognized is the Grundy Center Middle School.
Government officials say National Blue Ribbon Schools serve as models of effective school practices for state and district educators and other schools throughout the nation.
Up to 420 schools may be nominated each year.
