Hampton Dog Park Committee to Dissolve
Monday, the Hampton City Council held a workshop meeting and met with Sally Crandall of the Hampton Dog Park committee. She stated that people have lost interest in the project and the committee has decided to dissolve.
The committee collected a little over $2,000 that will be given to the city with requests that it go toward dog signage, dog waste bags, among other related items, within the city. The council then discussed possibly using some of the dog park funds for dog waste bags and signage at city parks and the cemetery.
In other business, Hampton City Manager Ron Dunt updated the council on the loan for the drinking water improvement project. Dunt said he received an update from the State Revolving Fund regarding the loan for the improvement project and after analysis, the city has met the criteria to have 25 percent of the loan forgiven after the completion of the project.
