Worst drought conditions in the Midwest can be found in Iowa
The latest U-S Drought Monitor report shows the coverage area with no drought conditions in Iowa increased to over 2 percent this week, compared to less than 1 percent last week.
No drought is listed in portions of 8 counties, in eastern and southeastern Iowa.
However, some of the worst conditions in the Midwest can be found in the local area, as a majority of the counties are in either an extreme to severe drought.
The moderate drought category covers Iowa the most at 28-point-4 percent.
