First Iowa Crop Report released for this growing season

The first Iowa Crop Report of the season shows that much of the state experienced cooler than normal temperatures and much needed rain/snow showers which left Iowa farmers with 1-point-6 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday.

The USDA says although minimal fieldwork occurred over the last week, some producers were able to apply anhydrous, manure, and dry fertilizer.

Oats seeding has already reached 21 percent complete, 11 days ahead of both last year and the 5-year average.
