AP/DNH sweeps matches at Postville tourney
The AP/DNH boys soccer team notched its first wins of the season Saturday, going 2-0 at a tournament in Postville. The United earned a 7-4 win over Charles City and defeated New Hampton 3-2.
The day started with a high-scoring first half against Charles City. The United took a 5-3 lead, but clamped down defensively in the second half to earn the victory.
Against the Chickasaws, AP/DNH scored twice in the first half and once in the second half while allowing one goal per half defensively to secure the tournament title.
The United move to 2-1 overall and will return to action Thursday at Sumner-Fredericksburg.
