Local alumni excel at NCAA D3 Track & Field Championships with Wartburg

AGWSR alumna Aubrie Fisher won her second national championship in the 3000-meter steeplechase, headlining a sixth place team finish for the Wartburg women’s track & field team at this weekend’s NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Rochester, New York.
Fisher, a senior, completed the race in 10:15.34, breaking her own school record in the process. She previously won the title in the same race in 2021 and was the runner-up in 2022. With the title, Fisher earned All-American honors in the event for the third straight year.
Fisher also placed 22nd in the 5K.

Sophomore Ellie Meyer, a graduate of Iowa Falls-Alden, placed fourth in the steeplechase in a time of 10:28.11. She earned All-American honors for the second straight year, and stands third on the program’s all-time steeplechase leaderboard.
