Bulldog Coaching Staff Mentors Athletes

Hampton-Dumont-CAL athletics fall sports practices are now underway.

HD-CAL Activities Director Christie Weiser said she was proud of the results of this year’s Iron Dog Competition and the work of Coach Cole Miller and the football coaching staff to open preseason.

"We had twenty plus Iron Dogs this year, and that's a big deal, those kids have put in the work year round, it's not like they just got better over the summer getting in the weight room," Weiser says. "To see Coach Miller and his staff and the things they've implemented, you know coming off back to back years of state qualifying runs. To have kids come in and work that hard it's just invigorating."

Weiser says on the volleyball court Coach Sarah Miller and her staff teach athletes a valuable lesson about how to grow both as a person and an athlete.

"Coach Miller and her staff just really push our kids everyday, to be the best versions of themselves they can be in all forms and facets. If you are doing that, If you are pushing yourself to be the best you can be off the court then that's going to find it's way on the court and the results are showing."

Weiser says on the cross country course Coach Traci Moorehead and Coach Alexis Vosburg have created a positive space for running development.

"The way Coach Moorehead and Coach Vosburg have built our cross country program, values and supports the kids qualifiying for the state meet and the kids that are finishing."

The first Bulldog athletic event of the season is a girls and boys cross country meet at the IFA/AGWSR Invitational in Maynes Grove on Thursday, August 24.
