Broncos Volleyball Host Several Local Teams Saturday

The Belmond-Klemme volleyball team will welcome several local teams to their home volleyball tournament Saturday. Local teams in competition include Hampton-Dumont-CAL, West Fork, North Butler and Iowa Falls-Alden.

Broncos Head Coach Leigh Faaborg says the tournament is a great opportunity for early rematches and first time looks at local competition and her team is ready to play at home.

"It's alittle bit of a different format for us, where typically we run pool play we're down a team this year," says Faaborg. "We're running a round-robin format, so it will feel a little bit different for us but it's always nice to play at home and I know our kids get really excited about that opportunity too. We get to see alot of area teams this weekend, teams that we have already seen, we'll see Garner again and then some teams we have later on in our schedule to like West Fork and West Hancock. A good preview of what we can expect when we compete against those guys so, excited to be on our home court and excited to see some different competition."

The Broncos are 6-3 after a 3-2 five set victory over Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Tuesday night. HD-CAL is 3-5 after losing 3-1 to Clear Lake at home Tuesday. West Fork is 0-7, North Butler is 3-7, and Iowa Falls-Alden is 3-6.

Other teams at the tournament are Garner-Hayfield-Ventura at 5-5 and West Hancock at 0-7.

Action begins at 9:00 a.m. in Belmond.
