Grundy Center Volleyball earns rivalry win over Gladbrook-Reinbeck
The #3 (2A) Grundy Center volleyball team earned a 3-0 sweep at home of rival #15 (1A) Gladbrook-Reinbeck Tuesday. The Spartans made especially quick work of the Rebels, winning 25-15, 25-15, 25-8.
The Rebels stayed within striking distance for about half of the first set, but a 6-0 run gave the Spartans an 18-10 lead, allowing them to run away with the set. Gladbrook-Reinbeck briefly held a 3-2 lead in set 2 before the Spartans ran away with another set win. It was all Spartans in set 3 as they took the set with the night’s largest margin of victory.
Grundy Center is now 26-2 and will be in action Saturday at a tournament hosted by #6 (5A) Cedar Falls.
