Cowgirls Volleyball Hosts Clear Lake in Rematch for First Place Thursday Night

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows volleyball team hosts Clear Lake for a share of first place in the North Central Conference Thursday night. This will be the second meeting of the season as the Cowgirls won the first meeting as part of Forest City tournament 2-1 on Saturday.

The Cowgirls are 9-11 overall and 2-1 in North Central after falling 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-22) at Pocahontas Area on Tuesday. The Cowgirls leaders are junior Elliot Ennis with 76 kills and 59 blocks, senior Ady Askelsen with 105 assists, junior Indy Johnson with 227 digs, and senior Sydney Freisleben with 74 kills and 85 assists. 

The Lions are 8-8 overall and 2-1 in North Central after falling 2-1 (19-21, 21-18, 15-6) to Forest City at their home tournament on Saturday. The Lions leaders are senior Xada Johnson with 231 kills and 138 digs, sophomore Alivia Paine with 300 assists, sophomore Avery Hegtvedt with 108 digs, and junior Madi Ott with 32 blocks. 

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows leads the Bound era series 27-3 and won last year’s meeting 3-0 in Clear Lake.
