Wright County Soccer Faces GHV in Season Opener on Thursday
The Wright County soccer teams will begin the season against a familiar Top of Iowa West opponent when they face Garner-Hayfield-Ventura in a home and home matchup on Thursday. The girls will host G-H-V and the boys will be at G-H-V.
The Wright County girls look to build up from a two win season. Head Coach Brooke Sunne says the Broncos will be ready to get back to work against a tough Cardinals squad.
"Garner is a great team, they're a tough team," says Sunne. "I expect my girls to work and get right back after it. Looking forward to it. We're ready. We're going to push ourselves, get better every single day. Every game is a learning opportunity."
The Wright County boys with eight senior leaders returning from a five win season, look to break through against G-H-V after a pair of tightly contested losses last season.
Both games begin at 5:30 p.m.
