This week the Alden School Board approved the district’s fiscal year 2026 budget.
The Alden board approved staff contracts, approved the last day for students for the current school year for May 30th, and the last day for staff on June 6th.
The board discussed a potential project involving solar panels, but decided not to pursue it at the present time due to the length of the payoff versus the potential savings.
And the Alden School Board approved to charge $20 a month for the 3-year-old preschool program. The district has historically not charged for this program, however, it is now a requirement of the state.
