A proposed 28-E Agreement between the City of Ackley and the Friends of Prairie Bridges Board was discussed during a special city council meeting this week.
Mike Fistler, a member of the friends group, told the Ackley City Council that his board did not feel the proposed agreement was fair. Taylor Nederhoff, an attorney for the Prairie Bridges board, proposed a 3-year initial lease agreement with a 30-year lease with the option to purchase with the first right of refusal.
Nederhoff says the proposed expenses for the park from the friends group included 3-thousand dollars a year for a lease, paying 100 percent of water usage, and 50 percent of the sewer charges, due to some of the park not being on city sanitary services, and paying for insurance. The group is also requesting a bill of sale on all equipment, signed off by the city, to be owned by the Friends of Prairie Bridges Board.
No action was taken by the Ackley City Council.
