Today, State Auditor Rob Sand announced his campaign for the Democratic nomination for Iowa Governor.
Sand in 2018 was the first Democrat to be elected as State Auditor in nearly 50-years and the first Democrat to beat a statewide incumbent Republican in over 30-years. He was re-elected to his 2nd term in 2022.
Sand was born and raised in Decorah, and began his career in public service as an Assistant Iowa Attorney General and Iowa’s chief public corruption prosecutor.
