
The Wright County boys soccer team will travel to Iowa Falls-Alden for their third meeting of the season to kick off Class 3A Substate 6 playoff action on Tuesday. The match will air on 104.9 KLMJ.
Wright County (3-9-2) concluded the regular season falling 4-0 at Clear Lake on May 16. Bryon Tux Coc is the leading scorer with six. Goalkeeper Jose Alfaro has a 80.4 percent save rate with 168 saves and 41 goals allowed.

“We’ve been gearing up for Iowa Falls, so we’re gonna be ultimately prepared. That’s one thing as coaches, we promise the players that we would always be prepared for them and do things so that they have the right tools to go into a game, knowing exactly what they have to do,” says Krogman. “I think the boys are ready, they’re hitting their second wind. I think that’ll pay dividends in the long run as we progress through the postseason here.”
Iowa Falls-Alden (0-12-2) concluded the regular season with a 2-2 tie against Garner Hayfield Ventura. Brandon Asaeda is the Cadets’ lead attacker with five goals. Goalkeeper Logan Mourlam has a 63.7 percent save rate with 100 saves to 57 goals allowed.
Wright County swept the regular series with a 3-2 win on April 4 and a 1-0 win on April 24.
Pregame coverage will begin at 6:50 p.m. followed by the kickoff at 7:00 p.m. at Cadet Field in Iowa Falls. The winner will advance to a substate semifinal at #1 (3A) Dallas Center-Grimes on May 27.
