FGH Auxiliary awards scholarships

Each year since 1979, the Franklin General Hospital Auxiliary has awarded scholarships to some of the graduating high school seniors in Franklin County who plan to enter a health-related field.  Application forms are sent out in February to high school counselors and distributed to any interested students.  A committee of auxiliary members then selects the recipients from qualified applicants.

This year’s recipients of those scholarships, each receiving $500, include Chloe Craighton of Hampton, Grace Craighton of Sheffield, Sydney Heinz of Sheffield, Eillie Lauffer of Sheffield, Charlee Morton of Hampton, Kenzie Moorehead of Hampton, and Whitney Schulz of Sheffield.

In addition to the annual one-year scholarships, every four years the Grace Darling Memorial Scholarship, is awarded to a young person going into a four-year registered nurse program.  This year’s recipient, who will receive $600 each year for up to four years is Jaxson Rew of Hampton.
