Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds Wednesday announced new grant awards for healthcare employers that are designed to help boost the industry’s workforce across the state, especially in high-demand jobs.
The Iowa Healthcare Credentialing Grant will support the workforce by funding work-based learning programs that include an earn-and-learn component.
The grant awards, totaling 2-point-94-million dollars, will provide financial support for 14 projects focused on supporting workers in a high-demand health care occupation.
Some of the grant awards are going to UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital in Waterloo, for the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, and to One Vision in Clear Lake.
The largest amount for a single grant is 250-thousand dollars.
