The first 18 holes of the two-day IGHSAU Golf State Tournaments were completed Thursday.
In the 2A tournament in Boone, Grundy Center is in third place at +60, 11 strokes behind second place New Hampton and 23 strokes behind leader Oelwein. Leah Larson has the team’s best score, tied for ninth at +10. Avery Knutsen is tied for 11th at +11, Holly Lubbert is in 25th at +17 and Kahlynn Draper is tied for 34th at +22.
Competing individually, South Hardin’s Emma Topp is tied for 17th place at +14.
In the 3A tournament in Solon, DNH/AP’s Keely Kauten is tied for seventh place at +1. Teammate Seeri Smith is tied for 29th at +11.
Day 2 will start at 8:30 a.m.
