A workshop meeting was held Monday night by the Hampton City Council, and interviews were conducted with 4 of the 5 people who applied for the vacant Ward 1 seat on the council.
Those who applied and were in attendance were Elizabeth Welker, Marlene Tapp, Aviana Rodriguez Nolte, and Kristin Roode.
Michele Welker, who also applied, was not present at the meeting.
The Hampton City Council will consider making an appointment at the regular business meeting set for Thursday.
