The latest U-S Drought Monitor Report through Tuesday morning shows that the coverage area of no drought conditions in Iowa dropped again by almost 8 percent to 20-point-49 percent.
The coverage area for abnormally dry conditions increased to just over 67 percent, while the coverage area for moderate drought dropped slightly.
The estimated population in drought areas of Iowa is over 250-thousand.
One year ago, nearly 84 percent of Iowa was drought free.
