The North Butler baseball team will take on South Hardin for only the third time in the program’s history on Tuesday. A game that will air on 99 The Wave. The Bearcats won the first ever meeting in 2023 and the Tigers won last year’s meeting, both by 5-2 scores.
North Butler (4-8) has not taken the field for a game since June 12th, after their last four scheduled games have been postponed due to weather, including Monday’s contest against Saint Ansgar. Brody Wangsness leads on the hill with a 1.08 ERA and 56 strikeouts in four appearances. Wrigley Endelman leads the bats with nine RBIs.
South Hardin (13-7) won the first game of an NICL-West doubleheader 7-2 over Gladbrook-Reinbeck on Monday. Game two against the Rebels was delayed by rain to Tuesday. Peyton Welch leads the staff with a 2.07 ERA and 25 strikeouts in seven games. Garrett Anderson leads the team with 11 RBIs.
Following the Tigers’ makeup game at 5:00 p.m. against Gladbrook-Reinbeck, pregame coverage for Tigers and Bearcats is scheduled to start at 6:45 p.m. followed by the first pitch at 7:00 p.m. in Eldora.
