AGWSR will go for their first win over Dike-New Hartford in the Bound era, and will look to gain quality at-bats and innings in the final days of the regular season. In their last outing, they fell 10-1 and 11-3 to East Marshall in a doubleheader Monday. Head Coach Justin Kerns on the growth opportunities through a grueling schedule.

“Like we always say, we play with all 2A teams except for Gladbrook-Reinbeck in our conference, and we’ve proven that we can play with anyone,” Kerns says. “We’ve played with Grundy Center. We’ve played with Denver. We played with AP. We’ve been right there with South Hardin. Just have to do it consistently on a day-to-day basis. And if we can do that, it’ll give them some confidence and show them that we are a good baseball team. We keep telling them, us coaches, you’re a good baseball team, you’re good baseball players. They’re young guys and sometimes they focus on the results, and the results lately haven’t been great. We’re right there, and we’ll just keep working until the end of season, until that last out is logged in the books, and we’ll just keep pushing.”

The Wolverine softball team used a five-run first inning in Game 1 to create separation and pull away. In Game 2, they scored in all five innings, including seven in the second.

Each game will start at 7:00 p.m.
