There is a slight risk for severe thunderstorms today into tonight for portions of northwestern Iowa, including Franklin, Hardin, and Wright Counties in the broadcast area.

Isolated severe thunderstorms are forecast to combine into a line this afternoon initially bearing a large hail threat.  Damaging winds and a tornado or two will remain possible as the storms move southeast at up to 30 miles per hour.

In addition, the National Weather Service says there is the potential for heavy rain this weekend.

Multiple rounds of heavy rain with thunderstorms will occur primarily in the evenings and overnight hours.

If you have outdoor plans this weekend, stay weather aware.  Have multiple ways to receive warnings, and seek indoor shelter when necessary.
