A Parkersburg man already facing multiple felony drug charges is back in custody after a new arrest by Butler County Deputies on Thursday. 66 year old Craig Thorne was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for drug possession while out on bond from a previous case. Deputies executed search warrants on Thorne’s vehicle and residence, leading to additional charges.

The new charges include possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance; Methamphetamine – 3rd or Subsequent Offense, both Class D felonies, and Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, a Class B felony.

Thorne was originally arrested in March 2025 on separate charges, including two controlled substance violations, two counts of failing to affix a drug tax stamp, and possession of a firearm by a felon. He had entered a written not guilty plea and was awaiting trial at the time of this latest arrest.

If convicted on all charges across both cases, Thorne could face over 45 years in prison. He is currently being held in the Butler County Jail.
