Dumont Council to Consider Animal, Fireworks Ordinance Changes

The Dumont City Council will meet Thursday (Aug. 14) night. The agenda includes a hearing request from a resident regarding a nuisance property in the 400 block of Second Street, along with updates from Butler County Engineer John Riherd on the repaving project on County Road T16 that runs through town including Main Street, and an amendment to the Butler County Logistics Park Urban Renewal Plan.

Dumont Council members will also discuss purchasing portable speed signs and hold first readings of ordinances amending rules for dangerous animals, fireworks, and repealing golf cart registrations.

In other business, department reports will cover wastewater and water inspections, mosquito spraying, and an update on removal of two semi trailers in the city lot. The council will also hear a Sandbaggin’ Days recap, plus reports from the fire, ambulance, library, and Butler County Sheriff.

Multiple nuisance abatements are on the agenda, including properties on Main Street, Montrose Avenue, and Sunnyside Avenue.

The Dumont City Council meets in regular session Thursday night at the EMS building at 7 p.m.
