Local US Cellular Manager Says T-Mobile Partnership Means Better Service

Mobile customers may have noticed some changes this month. As of August 1st, US Cellular is now operating under the T-Mobile brand, following the company’s purchase earlier this summer. Angela Helmke, store manager at Cellular Advantage in Iowa Falls, says the biggest change for customers is expanded coverage.

“…as of August 1, all of US Cellular customers get access to both T-Mobile’s network and US Cellular’s network where, it will not be that way, the other way around for T-Mobile’s customers until sometime next year…basically, it’s double the towers than any US Cellular customers have ever had before. So, yes, helps fills in the holes, better signal, better service in a lot of the areas that maybe you didn’t in the past. And overall, it’s gonna be an amazing change.”

For now, customers don’t need to take any action. Current plans and discounts remain in place, and phones and accessories will continue to be sold through local Cellular Advantage stores locally in Hampton, Iowa Falls and Clarion.

Helmke says signage and branding changes will roll out gradually over the next several months. T-Mobile says customers can expect broader 5G coverage, enhanced savings, and new perks as the transition continues.
